What we collect

• Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name on that account (and, for Google, your profile picture).
• Purchases: what you top up and unlock, and when. Card details are handled by Stripe, Apple or Google; we never see or store your full card number.
• Reading activity: what you read, your progress, follows, and how you use the site and apps.
• Things you post: comments, reviews, and your profile name, picture and bio.
• Technical data: device and browser type, IP address and general location (country or city level).
• Messages: emails you send us.

How we use it

To run your account and deliver what you've bought; to keep payments and accounts secure; to answer support requests; to understand which works and features readers use so we can improve Baiheverse; and to send you newsletters if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter using the link in the email.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it with service providers that help us run Baiheverse:

• hosting, database and account services
• payment providers (Stripe on the website; Apple and Google in the apps). If you ask Apple to refund an in-app purchase, we share with Apple whether it was delivered and how much of it you've used
• sign-in providers (Google and Apple)
• analytics services
• email services

We may also share data where the law requires it, or to protect readers and the service from fraud.

Cookies

We use necessary cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used.

Where your data is stored

Our service providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EU, we rely on our providers' standard safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except purchase records we need to keep for accounting, tax or fraud prevention.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Baiheverse isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and let you know of significant changes.
